Appearance
Choose a plan, change it, update your payment method and see invoices, all from the Billing page.
Overview
The Billing page shows your current plan and its status, your usage against the plan's limits, the billing email, every plan you can move to, and your recent invoices. Choosing a plan opens Stripe's secure checkout; TekStacks never sees your card.
Plans come in two groups, switched at the top of the plan list:
- For your organization: Solo, Team and Plus, for a company tracking its own equipment.
- For MSPs: the MSP plan, priced per team member, with every feature including clients.
Each plan card lists what it includes and its limits. For prices, see the pricing page.
Requirements
- Role: Admin (Plan and billing, which only the Admin role has).
Choose a plan
- In the sidebar, open Administration, then Billing.
- Pick Monthly or Yearly, and For your organization or For MSPs if both are offered.
- Click Choose plan on the plan you want.
- Enter your payment details in Stripe's checkout.
You return to Billing, which shows the new plan within a minute.
Note: Choosing a plan during the free trial does not charge you until the trial would have ended.
Change plans
- Upgrade to plan takes effect at once; you pay the prorated difference.
- Downgrade to plan works only when you fit the smaller plan. Dispose of equipment or deactivate users above its limits first. Features the smaller plan lacks are hidden, not deleted, and come back if you upgrade again.
- Switch to yearly or Switch to monthly changes how often you pay for the same plan.
- Moving from the MSP plan to a plan without clients first asks what happens to each client: merge it into your company or delete it (see When your plan drops clients).
Payment method, invoices and canceling
Click Manage billing: payment method, invoices, cancel. It opens Stripe's billing portal, where you update your card, download invoices or cancel. Recent invoices are also listed under Invoices on the Billing page, each with a View link.
When you cancel, your plan stays until the end of the period you paid for, then the account is paused (see Pausing your account).
Billing email
Receipts, trial notices and billing warnings go to the Billing email. It starts as the address of whoever signed up. A shared address such as billing@ keeps working when people change. Enter it and click Save.
Usage
The Usage card shows Equipment and Users against your plan's limits. Disposed equipment and deactivated users do not count. On the MSP plan it also shows how many team members you are billed for.
Troubleshooting
"A payment failed." A red bar at the top of every page tells Admins. Click Update your payment method to keep your plan.
"(plan) is too small for now" You have more equipment or users than the plan includes. Dispose of equipment or deactivate users, then try again.
"Online payment is not connected yet." Plans cannot be changed online right now. Email [email protected].
"Your plan includes ... pieces of equipment, and you have reached it." Adding equipment stops at the limit; nothing is ever removed. Choose a larger plan, or dispose of equipment you no longer have.
FAQ
What does a complimentary plan mean? TekStacks support gave your company a plan at no charge, shown as Complimentary. Upgrading starts billing for the new plan and ends the complimentary one.
Which features does my plan include? Your plan's card on Billing lists them.
