Appearance
Sign in at your company's TekStacks address with your email and password, then a six digit code. A passkey or Sign in with Microsoft skips both.
Overview
Every company has its own address, such as yourcompany.tekstacks.com, or its own domain if it set one up. You sign in there. A password sign in always asks for a second step:
- An emailed code, by default. The code has six digits and expires in ten minutes.
- A code from your authenticator app, once you add one (see Authenticator app).
Two ways in need no second step:
- Sign in with a passkey, using your fingerprint, face, screen lock or a security key (see Passkeys).
- Sign in with Microsoft, when your company has connected its Microsoft directory (see Sign in with Microsoft). Microsoft runs its own multifactor checks.
Requirements
- A TekStacks user in your company: you signed up, or an Admin invited you and you accepted.
Step 1: Find your company's sign in page
- Go to your company's address, such as
yourcompany.tekstacks.com. You can also click Sign in on tekstacks.com. - If you started from tekstacks.com, type your Account name (the part before
.tekstacks.com) and click Continue.
If you do not remember the account name, click Forgot your account name? Click here, enter your Email and click Email me my sign in link. TekStacks emails a link to each company your address belongs to.
Step 2: Sign in with your password
- On Sign in to your company, enter your Email and Password and click Sign in.
- On Confirm it is you, enter the code:
- from the email titled Your sign in code, or
- from your authenticator app, if you added one. If you cannot use the app, enter one of your recovery codes.
- The sixth digit signs you in on its own. You can also click Sign in.
Note: We never ask for your sign in code. If you get a code you did not ask for, someone has your password: change it on your Profile and security page.
Step 3 (optional): Skip the code next time
Until you add a passkey or an authenticator app, the home page shows Skip the emailed code next time with a Set it up button. Either option means no more emailed codes.
Signing out
Click your name at the top right, then Sign out.
Troubleshooting
The code did not arrive. Check spam, then click Did not get it? Send a new code. You can ask again after 60 seconds, up to three times per sign in. After that, click Start over and sign in again.
"That code has expired. Send a new code and try again." Codes last ten minutes. Click Did not get it? Send a new code.
"Too many wrong codes. Please sign in again." Five wrong tries end that code. Click Start over.
"Too many wrong codes today. Try again tomorrow, or sign in with a passkey." Thirty wrong codes in a day stop code sign ins for your account until the next day. A passkey still works.
"... left before sign in from this browser is paused." Several wrong passwords in a row pause password sign in from that browser for a short time. Wait, or click Forgot your password?.
"Reset your password to sign in." Password sign in is paused for your account, either after many wrong passwords from browsers TekStacks does not know, or because you clicked Secure my account (see New sign ins). Click Forgot your password? and choose a new one. Passkeys keep working.
"This account is turned off. Ask your administrator." An Admin deactivated your user. Ask them to turn it back on under Users.
"This company signs in with Microsoft." Your company made Microsoft the only way in. Click Sign in with Microsoft.
Forgot your password?
- On the sign in page, click Forgot your password?.
- Enter your Email and click Email reset link.
- Open the email titled Reset your password and click Reset password.
- Enter a New password, confirm it, and click Save password.
