Vendors are who you buy equipment and warranties from, with their support contacts, so the right phone number or portal is one click away from a broken laptop.

Overview

Each vendor records what they provide, your account number, their website and address, a contact and their support phone, email and website. A vendor's page also lists its people and everything tied to it:

  • Equipment bought from them
  • Equipment they took, for disposals
  • Warranty contracts
  • Services
  • Circuits

Equipment with a vendor shows a Vendor panel with the support details on its page.

Requirements

  • Role: Manage statuses, locations, departments, vendors and custom fields to add and edit vendors. By default Admin, Manager and Technician have it. Anyone who can see equipment can open a vendor's page.

Steps

Add a vendor

  1. Open Configure, then Vendors.
  2. Click Add vendor.
  3. Fill in the Name and anything else you know: What they provide, Our account number, Website, Address, the Contact name, email and phone, the Support phone, email and website, and Notes.
  4. Save.

You can also add a vendor by name from the Vendor drop down on the equipment form, and fill in the rest later.

Add people at a vendor

  1. Open the vendor's page.
  2. Under People, click Add contact.
  3. Fill in the Name, Role, Email, Phone and Mobile, and turn on Main contact for your main person there.
  4. Save.

Edit or archive a vendor

Click Edit on the vendor's page, or the edit icon on its row. To stop offering a vendor, click the archive icon and confirm; equipment already linked keeps it. Click Restore to bring it back.

Notes

Note: Vendors are shared by every client in your account.

Note: Vendor contacts show up in search, so you can type a name to find who to call.

Troubleshooting

"There is already a vendor with that name." Edit the existing vendor instead, or use a different name.
