Appearance
Turn on clients to keep each customer's equipment, employees, documentation and network apart, and work in one client at a time.
Overview
Clients are for MSPs, IT consultants and repair shops. Once they are on:
- A Clients page appears in the sidebar under For MSPs.
- Your own company becomes the first organization on that page, marked Your own organization.
- When you add a client, a switcher appears at the top of every page, labeled Working in. Equipment, employees, lists, documentation and files follow the client you choose.
- Every page shows the client it is showing above its title. Account pages (users, roles, settings, storage, billing) belong to no client.
Leave clients off if you only track your own equipment.
Requirements
- Role: Admin (Company settings, custom domain and storage).
- Plan: MSP (the Clients feature).
Steps
- Under Administration, open Settings, then the Clients tab.
- Turn on We manage equipment for clients.
- Click Save. "Clients are on" appears.
- Add your first client. See Managing clients.
Notes
Note: The Clients tab appears only when your plan includes clients.
Note: Once you have clients, the setting stays on. Turning it off would leave their equipment unreachable.
Troubleshooting
"You have clients. Their equipment would become unreachable, so this stays on." You tried to turn clients off while clients exist. Merge or delete them first. Clients with nothing stored can be deleted on the Clients page.
There is no Clients tab in Settings. Your plan does not include clients. See Plans and billing.
