Add a photo or drawing of a device's front or rear faceplate to the library. Once three companies verify it, it appears on every company's rack drawings.

Overview

Each library entry can have a front and a rear image. An image is shown in racks and on the equipment page when it comes from the community library or when three companies verify an upload. Until then, it waits in the entry's Images window, where other companies can verify it.

The window shows each image with one of these lines:

• From the community library
• Verified, shown in racks
• Uploaded by a company, shown in racks once 3 companies verify it, with how many have so far

Requirements

• Role: anyone who signs in can view images. Uploading and verifying need Edit equipment. Admin and Manager have it by default.
• Images are for devices in the library. A device only your company has does not have Images.

Step 1: Upload an image

1. In the sidebar, open Device library, All devices, and find the device.
2. Click Images on its row.
3. In Add an image of the, pick Front or Rear.
4. Choose the Image: a straight-on photo or drawing of the faceplate, cropped to its edges. PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 5 MB.
5. Click Upload. TekStacks confirms with Image uploaded.

Your company counts as the first of the three verifications when it is past its free trial.

Step 2: Verify another company's image

1. Open the device's Images.
2. Under an image waiting for verification, click the button that says it shows the front or rear, such as This shows the front.

TekStacks thanks you, or says it is now shown in racks if yours was the third verification.

Troubleshooting

"The image must be at least 300 pixels wide." Use a larger photo.

"That is not the shape of a 1U rack face. Crop the photo to the faceplate." The image's width and height do not match the device's rack height. Crop it to the faceplate's edges.

"The image can be at most 5,000 pixels on a side. Shrink it first." Resize the image before you upload it.

There is no verify button under an image. Your company uploaded it or already verified it, or your company is on a free trial.
