The short version: we collect what we need to run TekStacks and to see how it is used so we can make it better. We never sell, rent, trade or share your information with anyone for their own use. There is no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking across other websites.

What we collect

  • Your account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), your company's name and its TekStacks address.
  • What your company enters: equipment, employees (names, email addresses, departments, job titles), locations, vendors, warranties, and who holds what.
  • A history of changes: every change in your account is logged with who made it, when, and from which IP address, so your administrators can see what happened.
  • How TekStacks is used: the pages you visit, your browser, device type, screen size, time zone, language, the page that referred you, and an approximate location (city level) worked out from your IP address on our own servers. If you are signed in, this is linked to your account.
  • Email delivery: whether an email we sent was delivered, bounced or marked as spam, so we stop sending to addresses that do not work.

Cookies

We use our own cookies only: one to keep you signed in, one that protects forms from forgery, and two for usage analytics (one identifies your browser for up to two years, one groups a single visit for up to four hours). We do not use advertising or third-party cookies. We do not change what we collect for browser "Do Not Track" signals, because everything we collect stays with us.

How we use it

  • To provide TekStacks: sign in, storing your data, sending account emails such as invitations and password resets.
  • To keep it secure and to investigate problems.
  • To understand how TekStacks is used and decide what to improve.
  • To answer you when you contact us.

Who we share it with

No one, for their own use. We never sell, rent, trade or give your information to anyone. A few service providers handle it only to run TekStacks for us, under their own confidentiality and security obligations:

  • Lithium Hosting, our sister company under Lithium Holdings, which runs the servers where the application and database live.
  • Cloudflare, which carries traffic to TekStacks and provides its security certificates.
  • Amazon Web Services, which delivers our email and stores uploaded files, in the United States.

We would disclose information only if the law requires it, and we would tell you first unless we are not allowed to.

What TekStacks staff can see

Our staff see what it takes to run the service: each company's name, address, plan and billing contact, how many users and how much equipment it has, the feedback you send us, and the usage information above. They do not see your company's records, such as equipment, employees, documentation, files or network details, and they cannot sign in as you or act as your company.

Your Microsoft directory stays yours. If your company connects Microsoft Entra ID, only the features your administrators turn on use that connection. TekStacks staff have no access to it: no staff tool can reach your directory, list its users or groups, or see your connection's settings.

Your company's data

Information your company enters about its employees and equipment belongs to your company. We store and process it only to provide TekStacks to your company. If you are an employee listed in a company's account, contact that company about your information; we will help them handle the request.

How long we keep it

We keep your account's data while the account is open. When a company closes its account, we delete its data, apart from copies in backups that expire on their own schedule. Usage records are kept to see trends over time.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Each company's data is kept separate from every other company's. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and every change is logged.

Your choices

You can see and correct your own account details at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your information or ask us to delete it by writing to [email protected].

Children

TekStacks is a business tool and is not meant for anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and for a significant change we will tell account owners by email before it takes effect.
